Haere mai! Kia ora! Welcome!
Aotearoa's cosy pink games industry conference is making its way back into your world for 2021. A game development summit like no other, the Play by Play conference brings game developers of all skill levels together for two days of low-pressure learning and sharing. Delegates will engage in a safe, collaborative environment and take away learnings across a broad spectrum of game development areas.
Due to unforeseeable circumstances around COVID-19, Play by Play 2021's lineup will be limited to speakers living in New Zealand. We're taking this as a great opportunity to really hone in on what it means to be a game developer in Aotearoa, and focusing on amplifying the voices of our own people.
Our theme for 2021 is "Bigger Than We Know". This was our theme for the since-postponed 2020 conference, but it holds and even stronger meaning now. What can our small team of 5 million do as a country? And what can our even smaller industry achieve together? The reaches of our potential may just be bigger than we know.
As always, Play by Play is open to professional developers, employees, indies, hobbyists and even just curious minds. All are welcome here, and we employ a Safe Space Policy to ensure anyone of any race, religion, gender, sexuality or background is supported.
